Black Diamond Women’s airNET Harness $159.95

AirNET Harness

This low profile harness is light, breathable, and exceptionally comfortable. Best for sport climbing, the minimal gear loops and padding won’t support a trad rack. My favorite feature is the seamless Infinity Belay Loop that is made without bulky tacking or overlaps, no more clunky belay loop hang-ups when going in-direct or cleaning a route.

GSI Halulite Cutlery $17.95

No, it’s not OK to spread peanut butter with your nut tool, that’s just gross. To avoid spoonless disasters, I keep a designated set of cutlery in my backpack at all times. I like this kit from GSI, it’s sturdy, full-sized and light enough to never leave behind. The knife has enough bite to saw through a Creminelli Salami in a pinch.

Metolius Prime Rib Hang Board $49.95

We can’t all afford, or fit a home climbing wall, despite what instagram might be telling you. The Prime Rib Hangboard is an economical and space efficient entry into the world of home training. The two small edges and juggier top rail are gently rounded and crafted of smooth wood that felt nice on my tender skin.

Yeti Day Trip Lunch Bag $79

This bag has been the biggest upgrade to my lunch game in years. And, although it feels a bit bougie, it has reduced my packaging and food waste while making me very happy with a cold drink at the end of a hot day.

Opinel Nomad Cooking Kit $85

Add a little flair and some solid blades to your camp kitchen with the Opinel Nomad Cooking Kit. It comes with a sizable serrated knife, handy peeler, a smooth slicing blade and a corkscreW—all folded neatly into a travel sized cutting board and absorbent towel.

La Sportiva Women’s TX Guide $159

I spent the summer slogging the miles in these shoes while climbing primarily at obscure, unpopular crags with poorly maintained approach trails. The TX Guide felt comfortable, nimble, and had great traction on everything from slippery limestone to loose, steep ball-bearing gravel. Lighter and more flexible than most approach shoes, these feel like they pull some inspiration from trail running shoes without losing stability and durability on stone.

Yeti Hopper Backflip 24 Cooler $299

Another Yeti pick, but the Backflip 24 kept our food and drinks cold on a lot of hauls across Utah this summer. The fact that it’s light and compact enough to tuck in a full car made this my most-used cooler this year.

Edelrid Swift Eco Dry Climbing Rope – 8.9mm

As a leader in ecologically responsible climbing gear, Edelrid didn’t disappoint with the Swift Eco Dry. This rope uses the first PFC-free dry treatment, is made from the leftover yarns of other ropes and has Bluesign Certification. Even though it’s just so skinny at 8.9mm, this rope has enough stiffness for easy clipping and solid engagement in the new GriGri.

Mizu WATER PURIFICATION 360 M15 ADVENTURE KIT $59.95

The Mizu 360 M15 Adventure Kit is a stainless steel water bottle with an integrated water filter so you can safely refill at any water source. I love carrying less water when I know I’ll be able to refill on the go, and skipping purification tablets or a pump filter on backcountry trips. The filter can always be removed and replaced with a silicone straw for tapping the tap water.

Outdoor Research Women’s Wadi Rum Jogger Pant

The fit on these longtime favorites has a higher waistband ,which I prefer for climbing since it sits above my harness. But what I really like is that they’re flattering and comfortable, with no back gapping or slouching issues. The cordura-cotton blend fabric is heavy-duty, with a little stretch, a great weight for cool weather. These are one of my favorite all-around climbing pants of the year.
