SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

9 a.m. [Feline Parking Lot] Check-in begins.

  • A minimum donation of $10 is required, but $20 is appreciated!

 

10 a.m. [Feline parking lot] Clean-up Projects assigned.

  • Volunteers with tools (gloves, pry-bars, shovels, drills) needed!

 

10 a.m.—4 p.m. [Feline Parking Lot]

  • Five Ten shoe demo
  • Buy your annual Rifle Mountain Park parking pass.

 

6:30 p.m. [Community House]

  • Turn in Your SPEW scorecard
  • Buy more raffle tickets
  • Drink delicious beer
  • Eat delicious food grilled up by Chef Jed
  • Wear your costume

 

8:30 p.m. [Community House]

  • Raffle

 

9:00 p.m. [Community House]

  • Dance party begins

 

 

Clean-Up Projects List

 

Project Wall retaining wall improvements

Team Leader: Darek Krol

  • Goal: Make wall sturdier and wider with flatter belay surfaces
  • 4-6 volunteers
  • Gloves, pry-bars, shovels, drill

 

Trail-building Improvements to the Sanctuary

Team Leader: Jeremy Hensel

  • Goal: Flatten belays and add stairs to routes
  • Shovels, pick-axes, pry-bars, gloves
  • 2-4 volunteers

 

Fallen Tree Removal

Team Leader: Chris Kalous

  • Goal: Remove tree in Arsenal, improve trail to Red Dawn(?)
  • Needed 2 volunteers with chainsaws

 

Fire-pit cleaning: BBQ pits in park and campground

Team Leader:

  • Garbage bags, gloves, shovels
  • 2-4 volunteers

 

Fixed-Aluminum/Nylon Quickdraw removal

Team Leader: Andrew Bisharat

  • Goal: remove abandoned quickdraws on the following routes:

Anchor Replacement/Update

  • Hardware: 5 Climb Tech Anchor Kits, ???Camp anchor kits.
  • Tools: Wrenches to tighten quicklinks
  • Goal: Either replace anchors with new bolts/quicklinks/steel biners, or simply add steel biners/quicklinks to existing bolts.

Hardware: 50 1/2″ x 2.75″ stainless 5-piece, 50 Petzl hangers, 30 glue-in bolts (standard length Fixe), 6 1/2″ bits, 30 large (3/8″) stainless quicklinks (316ss), 4 tubes of patch epoxy (good for dozens of bolts each)

Tools: Cordless drill/bolting kit

Goal: Fix bad bolts on routes, fix bad anchors, and replace certain routes with glue-ins,

  • Specimen: update with Glue-ins
  • Dirt: update with Glue-ins
  • Replace second bolt on Roadside
  • Replace fourth bolt on Hang em High
  • Add bolt to Ricochet down low
  • Re-bolt Community Service, moving anchors too
  • Replace anchors on Sometimes Always
  • Replace anchors on Bride of Frankenstein
  • Replace anchors on Spurtatron
  • Pistola: bolt moving? New Anchors?
  • Ivory Tower: reachy clips? Move anchors?
  • Merry Maids: patch holes, cut old studs, replace righ anchor bolt
  • Second bolt on Choss loose?
