The film frequently diverges from poor George when a bunch of older (and dare I say irrelevant) climbers spout off about trad, their own experience with risk, how lame forum posters are, etc. These iconic climbers—who I have great respect for—drone on in monotonous snippets. Their circa-1980 clichés and tired one-liners have little context to Ullrich’s climbing. Did Ullrich’s ascents create some kind of Internet stir? If so, who cares?
