Jen Vennon had a great finish to the season last year with this ascent, her first 5.14, and the first of many to come. Like I say in this video, which our friend Joe Kinder shot and edited, Jen is an absolute technique ninja. It’s not atypical for her to be double heel-hooking at any given time. As she likes to say, if there’s an easy way to climb a route, she can figure it out. This was the route’s second female ascent, after Emily Harrington.
